Siri Ya Mtungi is a 26 episode high quality television drama series that spans two seasons. It portrays life as it is in typical Swahili households while dealing with tough issues such as HIV/AIDS and family planning.
In my role as the Production Designer, I studied and documented Tanzanian life and portrayed it in a realistic yet stylized and respectful way. My art team and I built over 30 sets in our studio and located and dressed over 40 different locations.
My hard work on this production was noted when I was nominated for Best Art Direction at the African Movie Magic Peoples Choice Awards.
